Using the Favorites list
When you first run the program it will display the Join Channel dialog (Cmd-J)
that contains the Favorites list.
The Favorites list contains a list of predefined channels that you can join directly.
The dialog also contains an edit field where you can enter the name of a channel
if it is not already included in the list.
To join a channel from the Favorites list, first select the network to use in
the popup list of profiles that is next to the edit field. Then select the channel
in the list and press Join.
In the above example you will join the channel Belgique on DALNet when you press
join.
You can add and remove channels in the Favorites list by using the buttons next
to the list.
When you add or edit a favorite channel you will see a dialog with fields for
the channel name, topic of the channel and what profile to use when you select
the channel in the Favorites list.
If you use the Join Channel dialog to frequently join a channel on a particular
connection, then it is easiest if you set up the preferred profile. That way you
don’t have to manually select it in the profile popup.
You also have a Tools menu which contains a channel sub menu. This allows you
to join a channel just by selecting it from the menu.
To add or remove channels from that menu, open the Join Channel dialog and edit
the corresponding channel. The Favorite Channel dialog contains a checkbox that
controls whether or not the channel is displayed in the menu.
